NORDITA MASTER CLASS IN PHYSICS

Den Nordiske Lejrskole, Hillerød, Denmark

20-28 July 2001

Lectures

List of relevant material for the topics covered by the lecturers:

During his lectures, Bob Rosner will talk about the explosive nucleosynthesis problem in the context of supernovae. Relevant material can be obtained from the FLASH website. As additional reading for his course we recommend a talk he gave elsewhere about Astrophysics and Laboratory Plasmas.

Paolo Di Vecchia has prepared some notes in his Introduction to Sting Theory, which covers the first 3 lectures. More will follow later (including the references at the end which are currently missing).

Steffi Reimann recommends as preparatory reading on artificial atoms the articles "RC Ashoori, Nature 379, 413 (1996)" and "MA Kastner, Physics Today, 1993 Jan. issue, p. 24"

Anders Irbäck suggested the article by H.S. Chan and K.A. Dill, "The protein folding problem", Physics Today, February 1993, 24-32.

Group work

Questions and problems will be brought up during the lectures. The participants will discuss and work on these problems during the afternoon group work sessions.
