Ice cores from Greenland:

The glaciology group at the Department of Geophysics at NBIfAFG, KU has
been involved in many deep ice core drillings in Greenland and
Antarctica. This summer the NorthGRIP drilling project reached bedrock
at a depth of 3085m - the longest core in Greenland ever.
There are two big freezers here in Copenhagen containing about 10 km ice
core in total. I will show you one of the freezers (bring a
sweater/fleece) and ice from more than 100.000 years ago as well as the
"true christmas snow" (from the winter between year 1 BC and 1 AD).
